Even though Lo is my younger cousin (by 4 months), she's taught me many things. One of the greatest lessons she has taught me, is how to be a true friend. At such a young age, I was shy and insecure. She was my side-kick helping me open up and teaching me how to be a friend. A friend that loves, cares and serves others. A friend who listens, gives and always shows compassion. Anyone who meets her will always come away with a smile or rolling on the floor laughing.
My best friend from childhood taught me how to be a true friend . . .
What has your best friend from childhood taught you?

A great post! My best friend from childhood, Theresa, taught me how to be friends with people that were different, she was Caucasian and I was the only Asian in our school and how to give good hugs! She greeted me with a hug every morning at school.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I love that she understood there was no barrier between people of different races. Hugs are awesome too!
DeleteAw, how wonderful to have a childhood friend that is so special and still so close to you! I wish I did a better job of keeping in touch with my good friend (not necessarily from childhood, more like from middle/high school). She was my spiritual mentor, even if she didn't know it. Another big lesson she taught me (and also probably didn't know it) is how to be a patient mother who communicates gently with her children instead of raising her voice. I should really send her a card!
ReplyDeleteYes! You should send her a card. I bet she would love it. Those are such great lessons to learn from your friend. Awesome!
